Policy on Responsible Use of WordPress Plugins
To comply with this policy, websites must:
- Be sure to use only plugins that have been updated very recently. By this, we mean those that have been updated five months ago or less.
- Be careful to use combinations with a maximum of two critical dependencies, for example, Elementor with Elementor Pro. No more than two critical dependencies should be used—for example, the extremely risky combination of Elementor, Elementor Pro, and PowerPack Pro for Elementor. The reason is that PowerPack Pro for Elementor often falls behind in its development. If TecnoTur proceeds to update Elementor and Elementor Pro before PowerPack Pro for Elementor has been updated to be compatible, it may cause the website to crash catastrophically. If TecnoTur decides to wait until a compatible update for PowerPack Pro for Elementor becomes available, in the meantime, the website becomes vulnerable to attacks. This situation is highly dangerous.
If any website hosted with TecnoTur violates this policy, that website will immediately lose eligibility for the affordable annual maintenance plan of US$200 per year (in addition to the hosting cost). It will only be eligible for high-risk maintenance, which costs either US$300 per month or US$3,000 per year. If this occurs during an annual contract and the website owner does not wish to resolve the high-risk situation by removing the plugin causing the issue, a prorated refund of the US$200 will be issued based on the number of months already used from the paid year.
